Ikat is a traditional textile technique resulting in a streaked effect, created by tying and dyeing lengths of yarn before weaving. Sections of yarn are bound tightly by hand before dyeing to prevent penetration of the dye into the tied sections.

The ikat look was achieved using production level yarn space-dyeing equipment. The yarns were bleached prior to space-dyeing, then the majority of each yarn package was injected with blue dye.

One section of the space-dyeing system was left empty of dye, allowing a portion of yarn to remain undyed.

The objective of this method was to achieve an ikat look in a production environment, without having to hand-dye skeins of yarn as in traditional ikat.

The high absorbency and ease of washing at high temperatures makes 100% cotton fabrics a natural choice for kitchen towels and tablecloths. Weave structures used are excellent for quick absorption.

Pure cotton blankets vary in weight from 7oz to 16oz. At 7oz, designs offer lightweight warmth for warmer climates or for use in summer. Grecian honeycomb weaves offer medium warmth, and yarn-dyed waffle weave suits cooler climates or a cold winter.
